MENA Newswire News Desk: President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Congressman Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor for his forthcoming administration. Waltz, a Republican representative from Florida, is recognized for his strong advocacy of U.S.-India relations. In a recent address to the U.S. India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF) at Stanford University, he emphasized the critical role of the U.S.-India partnership in shaping global dynamics. “In my view, this U.S.-India relationship is the most important of the 21st century,” Waltz stated. “This will determine whether this is a century of light or a century of darkness.”

Due to election commitments, Waltz was unable to attend the INDUS-X Summit in person but conveyed his message via video. He underscored the necessity of a free and open Indo-Pacific region and the protection of India’s sovereignty, particularly along the Line of Control (LoC). “Consider my office and my team an open door to further this relationship as we press forward,” he said, highlighting the importance of shared values in ensuring a stable future.

Waltz’s recent visit to India, alongside Congressman Ro Khanna, coincided with the country’s Independence Day celebrations. He expressed admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the Red Fort, describing the event as “amazing.” Waltz noted that initiatives like the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) and INDUS-X exemplify the strengthening ties between the two democracies.

The congressman highlighted several areas of collaboration between the U.S. and India, including joint production efforts such as Apache helicopter fuselages by Boeing and Tata, advancements in ship repair, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and data management. He emphasized that these partnerships are vital as both nations progress further into the 21st century.

Waltz called for sustained efforts to maintain the momentum in U.S.-India relations, urging stakeholders to continue fostering this crucial partnership. His remarks underscore the significance of the U.S.-India alliance in addressing global challenges and promoting shared democratic values. As both countries navigate complex geopolitical landscapes, their collaboration remains essential in fostering peace and prosperity on a global scale.
